Our Home On Wheels

At the very end of the 2013 camping season we purchased our new trailer, aka our “home on wheels,” or “cottage on wheels.”

Having owned 2 other trailers, we had a good idea what we wanted in our new trailer.  The short list included:

  • Bunk beds
  • Private master bedroom
  • Outdoor kitchen
  • Lots of storage
  • Double doors
  • Good awning coverage
  • Lots of storage
  • Towable (under or around 6000 lbs.)
  • Slideout
  • Good floor plan
  • Counter space
  • Reasonably priced
  • Oh, did I mention lots of storage

We drove all over God’s Green Earth to find a trailer that met all of our needs. We finally found one, that was reasonably priced, about a half hour away from us.

It literally called out our names as we walked by it to look at a different trailer. We took one step inside and immediately knew that this was “the one.”  We had a profound “aha” moment –  a beautiful soft light radiated throughout the trailer, a glow if you will,  and we heard an angelic ahhhhhh, or so we like to think.

Our new love was a 2013 Flagstaff 29BHKD by Forest River.

I will update this page with lots of photos once our trailer comes out of hibernation. In the meantime, I can share with you a photo of our floor plan!

Now grab some popcorn and watch a little video tour of our trailer!

The video highlights the 2014 version of our trailer. The obvious difference between the two would be the colours and fabrics.

So, what do you think?

Want to know what sold us on this trailer? What was the one thing that put the final nail in the coffin? Well, it was the awnings – that’s right, two awnings that covered the entire length of the trailer.  Most importantly, it covered the outdoor kitchen.  We used to watch the “fancy campers” come in with their fancy outdoor kitchens and wonder why the awnings did not extend over them.  So, when we saw two awnings we were sold.  Yep, thats right – an awning made us sign on the dotted line.

I cannot wait for spring to pull it out of storage!

Happy Camping!
