These Fire-Licked Meatball Onion Bombs are absolutely delectable. There will literally be an explosion in your mouth…..bang!…..sweet….bang!….savoury…..bang!…..yummy goodness….bang!
We made them over an open fire, but you could easily make them on the BBQ. The recipe could not be any easier:
- 1 lb. of lean ground beef
- 1 pkg. of onion soup mix
- 1 onion
- 1 bottle of Diana Sauce Original Flavour
Begin by cutting the onion in half horizontally. Separate the layers of the onion and set aside. In a medium sized mixing bowl, mix the ground beef and onion soup mix together. Once thoroughly incorporated, form golfball-sized meatballs. Take two layers of the onion and wrap it round a meatball. Drizzle with one teaspoon of Diana Sauce and wrap in aluminum foil. Repeat the process with the rest of your meatballs. Place your meatballs on your fire-pit grill and listen to them sizzle! Cooking time will depend on the heat coming off of your fire and the size of the meatballs. After about 20-30 minutes, take one meatball off of the fire and take a peak to see if it’s fully cooked. Once they are fully cooked, take them off of the heat and let stand for a few minutes until you are able to unwrap them without burning your hands. They are very delicious! Enjoy!
This recipe is a ratio recipe. Not enough meatballs or not enough yield, well, simply double the recipe. Problem solved!
